Stream Pirates

Designed the UI and player experience for Stream Pirates, defining the game’s visual language and interaction systems for streamers and their audiences.

I was the senior UI/UX designer for Stream Pirates at Captain.tv, a startup creating interactive games designed to be played alongside live streams. Following the success of Stream Raiders, this was their second community-driven side game for streamers and viewers. My role included defining the visual language, creating UI elements and screens, and refining style directions that balanced resonance with the game’s key art and a more minimalist approach that let the artwork take focus.

Role

  • Served as the sole UI/UX designer, responsible for shaping the game’s interface and overall player experience.
  • Defined the visual language and interaction patterns, ensuring consistency between gameplay, streamer overlays, and viewer-facing elements.
  • Created UI assets, components, and mockups that balanced the vibrant key art with a clean, minimalist interface design.
  • Collaborated closely with artists, engineers, and design consultants to refine usability, visual cohesion, and brand resonance across platforms.
